Sewing machine
June 7, 2014
start with a machine that can sew straight stitch, do a bit of zigzag, set up to do buttonholes, has the ability to do a running stitch ( like a wavy line in straight stitch) and has the capacity to use a twin needle (it will have a second thread spool). straight will have a range of lengths 2-3mm long for sewing woven fabric and topstitching, 5mm plus for staystitching or gathering. zigzag stitch for neutering woven fabrics or sewing seams with knit fabric, comes in variety of lengths and widths. Buttonholes for buttons, a memory type is uber cool for several same size buttonholes on shirts. Running stitch is used for attaching underwear elastic and stretch as the elastic does. twin needle capacity is a must for me. parallel straight stitch on the right side of your fabric while underneath it does zigzag which lets the seam stretch, I use this for hemming, attaching binding and elastic. Favourite twin needle size is 4mm wide. Can’t be without it. watch the getting started video for sewing know how.
for $300 this baby does all you need.
